Short sales and foreclosures have become common words in real estate over the last 2 years. If you are considering buying a home in today, you may encounter a foreclosure or short sale property. If so, it is important that you understand the pros and cons of buying a bank owned (REO) or short sale property before you embark on this journey. These options are much different than buying a home from an individual owner. My partner, Bryan Kendrick and I have over 9 years of experience dealing with foreclosure properties and have had the privilege of working with several banks to sale their properties. We have been on both sides of the foreclosure transaction. Most transactions go fairly smoothly, but sometimes there may be unforeseen obstacles to overcome and that is where we step in to resolve challenges. With over 560 hours of real estate education each, we have the knowledge, skill, expertise and contacts to overcome most challenges and to have a successful closing. Bryan and I have our SFR Certification (Short Sale Foreclosure Resource) and have successfully closed many transactions involving bank owned properties over the last 9 years.
